Open Access, Copyright & Fees

Perspective is an open-access journal. Published articles are free to read. Submission and peer review are free of charge; an article processing charge (APC) of USD 200 per accepted article is payable only after acceptance.

Author fees

The standard APC applies to all accepted article types. Rejected manuscripts incur no APC. There are no additional page, colour-figure or supplementary-material charges. Payment instructions are provided through the submission record after acceptance.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and are independent of payment. Payment does not guarantee acceptance, favourable review or any particular editorial outcome.

Copyright and license

Authors retain copyright and grant Perspective permission to publish their work and identify itself as the original journal of publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0).

The license permits noncommercial sharing and adaptation with appropriate attribution, a license link and an indication of changes. Reuse must not imply endorsement. Third-party material may be subject to separate conditions, as indicated in its credit line.

Sharing published work

Authors may share their articles on personal or institutional websites and in suitable repositories. Include the publication details and a link to the journal version so readers can locate subsequent corrections or notices.
